The (MG) Rating System

MG is the unit of measurement of the active ingredient Methylglyoxal found in Manuka Honey.  Manuka Honey is produced from the flowers of the Manuka bush (Leptospermum scoparium) which is an indigenous plant of New Zealand.  A higher rating indicates a greater concentration of active ingredient contained in the honey.  At Waiaro Estate we have each batch laboratory tested so that you can be sure it contains or exceeds the amount indicated on the label.
